The Duke's Desire
June Calvin
Duty and Desire
The beautiful Viscountess Deborah Silverton never wished to
wed again. The death of her hateful husband had ended an
unspeakable nightmare. On the other hand, she desperately
wanted to see her sixteen-year-old daughter Jennifer safely
married. Unless Jennifer found a decent husband, either
her grasping guardian would auction the girl off to the most
odious libertine in the realm, or she would be snapped up by
one of the seductive rakes circling like sharks around her.
Fortunately, the Duke of Harwood was in London. Not
only was Harwood as handsome as he was wealthy, his
wife's death had left him in clear need of a mate. How could
he possibly resist as lovely a young lady as Jennifer? The
only problem was Deborah, when she found her mother
love at war with a most improper passion for the Duke.
Deborah tried to remember how much she hated men.
And the Duke, using all his keen wit, iron will, and
subtle wiles, tried to make her forget....
